Chief Financial Officer (CFO)

The CFO will work as a partner with the CEO of the regional operating company to develop and execute business plans to support the overall strategy of HomeServices of America. This position will establish and utilize key operating metrics and financial analysis to assess and drive business performance. Implement policies, procedures, and controls to facilitate the timely, accurate and consistent reporting of financial results and assures compliance with financial and legal reporting requirements. The position is located in our West Des Moines corporate office.

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Establish and administer business plans and budgets, along with goals and deliverables, to align the business with strategy and create value

  • Lead creation of annual budget, set budget goals, review results vs plan and make adjustments to align with business objectives

  • Consult with and advise all segments of management concerning operation of the business as it relates to the attainment of objectives and the effectiveness of policies, organization structure and procedures

  • Manage operating and capital expenditures to attain EBITDA projections

  • Administer tax policies and procedures

  • Assure protection of the business and its assets through internal controls, policies, procedures, and necessary insurance coverage

  • Appraise and interpret the effect of economic factors and other external factor on the business

  • Perform administrative activities necessary for effective management, including employee safety, selection and development, salary and budget administration, employee counseling and motivation, communicating organizational goals and objectives, and planning, integrating, measuring and reporting work performance
     

Requirements and Qualifications:

  • MBA/Bachelors degree in business, finance or accounting

  • Ten plus years experience in a financial/accounting position with increasing responsibility

  • Experience in financial services, mortgage or real estate a plus

  • Proven competency in corporate finance/accounting to include budgeting, reporting, business planning, compliance, and general business management

  • Strong leadership, interpersonal and team building skills

  • Strong written and oral communication and presentation skills

  • Project management skills, ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks and projects concurrently

 


Title Researcher

Iowa Title Company is seeking a highly-motivated individual to join our team as a Title Researcher at our West Des Moines office! The ideal candidate will have experience in the real estate or legal professions.  The Title Researcher provides research and administrative support as needed for the department and office including any of the following: 

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Research real estate records, title problems and legal descriptions

  • Transcribe information for processing, examining and closing personnel

  • Obtain and provide all required information while maintaining exceptional customer service to all customers and other departments

  • Generate and track title searches and any applicable reports  

  • Acquire, prepare and maintain files and documents 

  • Perform any additional responsibilities as requested or assigned 
     

Performance Requirements and Qualifications:

  • Minimum of high school diploma or the equivalent

  • One to two years of clerical or administrative experience strongly preferred

  • Knowledge of real estate, abstract and/or mortgage business helpful.  Knowledge of legal descriptions helpful

  • Strong computer and keying skills

  • Ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks and projects concurrently under deadlines.

  • Self-motivated and detail oriented

Corporate Receptionist

HomeServices of Iowa is looking for a self-starter to join our team as a Corporate Receptionist in our West Des Moines office! This position is responsible for engaging with guests and visitors to the office and over the phone while completing a variety of administrative tasks.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Operate a multiple-call telephone console and route calls to the appropriate person or location

  • Greet visitors and notify the person being visited

  • Maintain the appearance of the reception area

  • Route, distribute and prepare incoming and outgoing mail

  • Log accounts payable invoices

  • Provide administrative and clerical support to various departments

  • Train back-up receptionists when needed

 

Performance Requirements and Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent work experience and knowledge

The ideal candidate will have experience in the real estate or legal professions.  The Customer Service Representative will provide timely service to customers and agents which may include any of the following:
 
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Receive and respond to general inquiries
  • Address complex inquiries by directing customers to the appropriate department
  • Complete billing services
  • Input orders
  • Provide departmental support including computer input, reporting, correspondence, tracking documents, answering telephones

Senior Business Analyst

HomeServices of Iowa is seeking an analytical individual to join the Information Technology team as a Senior IT Analyst in our West Des Moines corporate office! The Analyst is responsible for business systems analysis, project management, and strategic planning to achieve maximum productivity through information technology solutions across all business units.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Design, implement and/or manage technology solutions
  • Analyze and evaluate technology solutions, costs and feasibility
  • Evaluate and negotiate vendor contracts
  • Oversee third party vendor relationships
  • Work with executive, departmental and sales office managers to determine technology needs, determine practicality of requests, and advise on potential solutions

Relocation Coordinator

HomeServices of Iowa is now hiring for a Relocation Coordinator in our West Des Moines corporate office! The Relocation Coordinator will be responsible for coordinating the relocation process of incoming and outgoing clients.  

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Field leads for incoming and outgoing referrals, assess client needs, respond to inquiries

  • Counsel clients throughout the relocation process

  • Administer electronic lead management systems and assist with drip marketing campaigns

  • Review broker market analyses for accuracy

  • Assist in contract presentations

  • Facilitate closing arrangements, final billings, and commission payouts

  • Handle correspondence, support other relocation staff, and assist with special projects

HomeServices of Iowa is seeking a Human Resources Generalist in our West Des Moines corporate office. The HR Generalist will primarily be responsible for coordinating and leading our staffing and recruitment activities. Qualified candidates will have a minimum of 3 years previous experience in interviewing and selection, onboarding, benefits administration, timekeeping and employee relations.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Manage job postings, resumes/application, interviews screening candidates and making job offers

  • New hire orientation and training

  • Provide general support to staff in the areas of timekeeping, HRIS, policy and benefits administration

  • Assure completion of all required paperwork and approval process to include new hires and changes

  • Bi-weekly payroll reporting

The ideal candidate will have experience in the real estate or legal professions.  The Title Assistant will provide timely service to customers and agents which may include any of the following:

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Generate searches and reports, and retrieve documents as part of support services on research requests

  • Perform scanning and indexing and assist in maintaining supplies

  • Prepare billing, check deposits, and assist in locating abstracts

  • Process mail and courier deliveries for incoming and outgoing title work

  • Answer phones, respond to information requests or refer to appropriate departments

  • Retrieve and process information and provide communication to clients

Iowa Title Company is seeking a highly-motivated individual to join our team as a summer Intern at our downtown Cedar Rapids office! The intern will complete customer service and title assistant tasks which will allow staff members to concentrate on other production duties.  As an intern, you will play an important role in positively impacting production and abstracting turnaround times. 

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Process and sort incoming abstracts

  • Enter incoming orders

  • Provide customer service via email, telephone and to walk-in customers

  • Prepare, scan and index title products

  • Assemble abstracts into final form

  • Complete general accounting and clerical duties

  • The ideal candidate will be studying Business, Law, or Real Estate.

HomeServices Insurance Agency is an affiliate of one of the largest real estate companies in the United States, and we have an extraordinary opportunity for a professional insurance producer! The producer will work in our Cedar Rapids and Iowa City offices to assist clients with their insurance needs.

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Market and sell personal lines insurance policies

  • Proactively contact all leads to recommend appropriate insurance, quote and place coverage

  • Identify and assess client risk exposures

  • Foster referral relationships with all real estate personnel including agents, office managers and mortgage brokers to maximize sales opportunities
     

Performance Requirements and Qualifications:

  • Associate’s degree with equivalent work experience and knowledge; bachelor’s degree preferred

  • Appropriate state agent/broker personal lines insurance license
