Buyer's Handbook: Closing the Deal

Any issues or problems will have been discussed and resolved before the scheduled date of the closing, including a final walk-through by you to ensure you are satisfied with all conditions in the sales contract.

On closing day you can expect papers, papers, and more papers! You'll sign the note promising to repay the mortgage, with the house as security. You'll sign other papers fulfilling governmental regulations and transaction information. Look over the numbers on the closing or settlement statement carefully – that's the last documents you'll need to sign.

Congratulations!

The papers are signed, the money's been exchanged.
You're handed the keys and the home is now yours!
