"Van" VanBuren is a retired business executive who moved from Texas to Iowa in 2005, for the Quality of Life and Quality of People. He is retired from IBM, where he had a very successful 30 year career, including assignments in Systems Engineering, Marketing, Consulting and Management, helping companies in the US, Canada and Europe. After retiring from IBM, he worked for several other companies at the Director/VP level and has broad based management, marketing and relationships expertise. During his business career he lived in the Southeast, Switzerland and the Southwest.
A Dallas County, Iowa native, Van and his wife live near Adel, Iowa, where he is VP of the Library Board, is a Township Trustee/Treasurer, Rotary Club President and involved in various other civic activities. He has been a guest lecturer at North Texas U., Simpson College and Drake University. He is a Northwest Missouri State graduate and attended Math graduate school at Florida State University.
